Reportedly, the project features 15 interchanges and passes through six districts. Besides reducing the distance, travel time and fuel consumption, the project would also ease the transportation of exported goods from across Pakistan to Karachi ports. The premier reviewed the progress of various development projects going on in the country and asked the authorities to take all measures to complete the projects on time to facilitate trade, tourism and connectivity.

In addition, the premier was informed about the Karakorum Highway’s 250-kilometre-long Thakot-Raikot stretch. It was said that the feasibility report for the road section would be completed in seven months, after which work would start on the project. The project is being developed to facilitate trade between Pakistan and China, as well as to provide an alternate route during the construction of the Dasu and Diamer Bhasha dams.
