Hyderabad: The government has decided to construct Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, worth PKR 308 billion, on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis, stated the planning secretary, according to news published in the leading newspaper on September 2.

Recently, a meeting was held with Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives. During the meeting, the secretary mentioned that the government will provide PKR 8 to 10 billion for the project while the remaining amount will be provided by the private sector.

Moreover, the committee was informed that the country’s total development budget is approximately PKR 2,200 billion, out of which PKR 700 billion is the share of the federal government and the share of provinces is PKR 1,500 billion. In the meeting, it was mentioned that the projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be restarted.
