Multan: Multan Commissioner Iftikhar Sahoo has instructed the departments concerned to share a comprehensive plan to upgrade infrastructure in the city, a news source reported. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had earlier instructed the commissioner to prepare a plan on initiating development projects in the city.

To help prioritize these plans, Commissioner Sahoo has asked the Water and Sanitation Authority to prepare and share a comprehensive proposal on upgrading the sewerage system. The existing sewerage infrastructure needs urgent replacement, making it a priority for the concerned officials.

The commissioner has also asked the Multan Development Authority (MDA) to share a plan on the dualisation, expansion and rehabilitation of the road network in the city. Furthermore, the MDA will also share plans on the construction of flyovers, an inner and outer ring road in Multan, and new road links.
Additionally, the Multan Solid Waste Management Company is to identify a site for setting up a landfill site to dump the city’s solid waste. Furthermore, suggestions have also been sought from the Education Department and the Parks and Horticulture Authority on projects deemed essential to the upgradation of the city’s infrastructure.
