Lahore: Government of Punjab has identified land connected with Lahore Ring Road (LRR) to relocate Shah Alam Market, reported a news source. Lahore Deputy Commissioner Saliha Saeed held a meeting with members of Lahore Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to sought suggestions on this relocation.

LCCI President Almas Haider, Senior Vice President Khawaja Shehzad Nasir and Vice President Faheem-ur-Rehman Sehgal were present at the meeting. The meeting members discussed the economic impact of shifting the Shah Alam Market to the suggested area near LRR. Matters regarding the expansion of the industrial sector and industrial zoning in specific parts of the city were also discussed.

Addressing the meeting members, LCCI President Almas Haider said that Lahore is the centre of economic activities in the province. To help the city realise its real worth in the business sector is important to address the concerns faced by traders operating in Lahore, he added.
Within 10 days of receiving the suggestion, the government will finalise the relocation plan.
