Multan: The Multan Development Authority (MDA) has sought suggestions regarding the acquisition of land bank for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) – a news source reported.
A session, presided over by Additional DG Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar, was held on Thursday. The officials concerned were asked to present their suggestions at the meeting.

Anwar said that MDA wanted to identify land that would be easily accessible. He added that the area should also have access to health and education facilities.
Furthermore, a draft regarding the establishment of New Pakistan Housing Authority (NPHA) will be tabled before the federal cabinet for approval this month.

The Ministry of Housing and Works, in collaboration with the Task Force on Housing, has expedited work on the draft. A document for the establishment of a Real Estate Regulatory Authority is also being worked upon.
Under NPHP, the government plans to construct five million low-cost residential units in the next five years.
