The EPA will prepare its report based on the suggestions with its head office in Lahore. Once the head office approves this report, it will be shared with the committee comprising environmental experts. The related development on the project will be initiated once the EPA NOC in terms of project’s impact on the environment is issued.
As per the details revealed, the authority concerned has a plan in place to preserve five major jungles falling along the RRR route, while it would require the project development authority to chop down around 5,000 trees, it will be compensated by planting 119,000 more saplings.

In order to seek public opinion of the project’s environment impact, the RDA organized a public meeting earlier this week. The meeting members were assured that many more trees will planted against each tree cut down to construct the ring road. The meeting members were also briefed that moving the heavy traffic away from Rawalpindi and Islamabad through RRR development will leave positive impact on the environment conditions of the twin cities.
