Lahore: Punjab Fisheries Department has announced subsidies for those looking to set up fish farms in the province, reported a news source. For people looking to opt for setting up fish farms for commercial purposes will not be required to pay fee for water and soil testing.
In addition to waving off soil and water testing fee, the provincial government has decided to arrange for issuing loans from Zarai Taraqiati Bank on easy terms and conditions. To further promote commercial fish farming, Fisheries Department has also started technical training programmes free of cost.
Furthermore, Water and Power Development Authority will also provide electricity at agricultural tariff rate to the tube wells installed at these farms. The point set up by the department will also provide fish for farming at discounted rates.
The project is launched to promote Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to promote fish farming in the country. This is intending to bring down prices of mutton and chicken.
