Lahore: The submission of Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) forms has begun since yesterday, 22nd October, 2018, in designated government and NADRA offices, a news source reported. Citizens can now apply for a house under the first phase of NPHP.
The 5-million houses initiative was launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan about a week earlier, where he had announced that five million affordable houses would be constructed over a period of five years for low-income segments of society.
In the first phase, houses can be applied for in Sukkur, Quetta, Gilgit, Muzzafarabad, Swat, Islamabad, and Faisalabad. This is the pilot phase of the project. In the next phase, nine more cities will be included in the program where the scheme is expected to be launched early next year.
Ministers and dignitaries inaugurated the registration process for NPHP in all the cities of the first phase. The scheme has received an overwhelming response so far with people lining up to submit their registration forms for NPHP.
