Gujranwala: The strategy to repossess government land from land mafia has been prepared for Gujranwala and the rest of the districts of Punjab by Board of Revenue, a news source reported. The crackdown against illegal possession will begin as soon as Gujranwala’s district administration gives the green signal.
The district has a total of 1,973 acres of government land. Out of that, 962 acres are illegally possessed by private individuals and groups. Several cases are already pending before courts on the matter. Board of revenue will later issue instructions and directions for deputy commissioners so that a uniform policy can be applied throughout the province.
