Islamabad: Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources has formed a comprehensive policy to increase oil and gas production in the country, reported a news source. For becoming self-sufficient in this sector, 90 wells in search of oil and gas will be dug during the current fiscal year.
Investment in the oil and gas sector has seen major improvements during the last couple of years. In addition, the concerned department has discovered these resources at 101 different sites. Out of these discoveries, 87 were found in Sindh, and seven each in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
To further increase the investors’ interests in this sector, the government has decided to offer more facilities.
