Peshawar: The Peshawar District Management has completed its arrangements to deal with expected or unexpected monsoon emergency, reported a news source. A meeting in this regard was held earlier during the week where Peshawar Deputy Commissioner Doctor Imran Hamid Sheikh was briefed on the arrangements.
For flood warnings and evacuation process, a 24/7 operational control room has been set in Deputy Commissioner Office, while the district staff has also been instructed to work in shifts. The public is also being educated to inform of any emergencies by giving a call on 1052 – the telephone helpline set up for this purpose.
In addition to that, the employees of Irrigation Department will also monitor water flow in all rivers throughout the day and night and present a daily report on it.
