Lahore: The Punjab Industrial Estates Development & Management Company (PIEDMC) has finalised a strategy in order to commence with the launch of the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park – which is being developed in close proximity to the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2), a news source reported. As per officials, the provincial government plans to initiate the project within the next three months.

As per details, the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park would follow a model similar to the Sunder Industrial Estate. It will feature all necessary infrastructure such as electricity, sewerage, and roads network along with other developmental facilities. It will also feature international-standard construction.
PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi revealed this information during the inauguration ceremony of the administration block of the Multan Industrial Estate. He also inaugurated a jogging track and weighbridge to facilitate the employees working at this industrial estate.

In a bid to expedite the industrialisation process in Punjab – especially in South Punjab – the provincial executive recently notified two industrial estates in Rahim Yar Khan and Vehari the status of Special Economic Zones (SEZs). This measure is expected to improve the lives of people residing in these areas – creating a significant number of employment and job opportunities.
