Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has assured the business community that in order to satisfy their concerns regarding the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), a strategy is being finalised, according to news sources.
The PM chaired two meetings; one with the commerce and industry representatives, and another with the nation’s leading businessmen. He assured the businessmen that the government will form a committee of senior industry members, who will be tasked with the decision to select which cases regarding businessmen should be presented to NAB.

As per the source, the business community has expressed concerns that business activities were being negatively impacted by the NAB’s intervention. The federal government was mulling some procedural changes in NAB since August 2019, to offer a fear-free business environment to encourage the investment needed to boost the country’s economy. The Chairman of NAB has also given his assurances that his department will not cause disruptions in any businesses.

Once again, the PM assured the chambers of commerce and industry representatives that the government was committed to providing all possible facilities to the business community. The meeting was attended by the Adviser to the PM on Commerce, Textiles, Industries and Production & Investment Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, and Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Zubair Gillani and other concerned senior officials.
