Karachi: The Sindh government’s spokesperson Barrister Murtaza Wahab stated that development work is underway to rehabilitate a stormwater drain in Karachi, according to news published on May 09.

As per the spokesperson’s official Twitter handle, the stormwater drain in Karachi will facilitate the drainage of water from the area of Katti Pahari through KDA Chowrangi into Gujjar Nullah. The announcement is made as the monsoon season is about to begin in Karachi – which causes flooding in many parts of the city.

It was announced that the construction of the stormwater drain is aimed at easing the effects of heavy rain spells and curbing the flooding situation in the affected areas.
