The PHC bench, including Justice Lal Jan Khattak and Justice Syed Mohammad Attique Shah, were presiding over a petition hearing. All Allottees Association of the Peshawar Residencia President Shakib Rasool filed the petition seeking multiple reliefs from the court – including the orders for housing units’ prices revision. The petitioner sought for a stay order against any legal action against the allottees – as prompted by the PHA’s warning for down payments to be cleared by October 15 or losing the allotment. It was highlighted that housing units’ prices and the instalment payment schedule need to be revised to benefit the low-income groups.

The petitioners maintain that the PHA’s fixed rates for the construction of grey structures were overpriced and way beyond the allottees’ financial capacity. The court was adjourned till October 22.
The Project entitled ” Peshawar Residentia” for government employees is totally against the mission of the PTI government to provide cheap housing facility to the government employees as its prices are very high which is beyond to the capacity of the governmentas well as general public. Therefore, we request the Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to provide plots to government employees in economical rate on instalment basis and provide interest free loan for purchase of Plots or for construction home. The Interest-free loan scheme may be normalised for government employees.
