Khanewal: The district administration of Khanewal has retrieved large amounts of state land from illegal occupancy in an operation started three weeks ago, according to a news source. 2,154 acres and 12 marlas of land were reclaimed, amounting to a total value of PKR 740.56 million.
This operation is being directly overseen by Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad, with the assistant commissioners (ACs) of the four tehsils providing due assistance.
A team lead by AC Abdul Ghaffar retrieved four acres in Abdul Hakeem Town in the Kabirwala tehsil, while 16 kanals were reclaimed by AC M Arshad of Mian Channu in Chak 10-11/8-R from illegal occupants, along with 16 kanals retrieved from cattle and grain markets and 20 kanals taken back from two primary schools.
As for the Jahania tehsil, the district administration assisted the operation to relieve land in Chak 132-10/R from illegal occupancy. In Khanewal tehsil, teams retrieved land in T-Chowk, RCA Chowk, Raza-e-Mustafa Chowk, Railway Road, Ayyub Chowk, and Basti Chan Shah.
