Gujranwala: The revenue department has directed all real estate developers operating in Punjab to submit their stamp duty collection details – a news source reported.
As per officials, the provincial government recently banned housing societies from issuing files for all plot categories. Further, it notified a replacement in the form of a property registration process; which is yet to be implemented.

In this connection, a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Dr Zeeshan Haneef was held in Gujranwala. As per the decision of the attendees, the parties concerned will now be required to obtain registries for commencing with the sales and purchases of their properties. Further, all the registrars and land-record centre in-charges have been instructed to comply with the decision as well.

According to Land Record Centre In-charge Imran Siddiqui, all the societies have been directed to issue fard documents. For this purpose, in the initial stage, the details of stamp duty collection have been sought to facilitate the provincial executive in its revenue estimation efforts.
