Islamabad: All the stakeholders concerned have given their approval with regard to the development of Gwadar City master plan, which would be announced at the earliest – a news source quoted Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Khusro Bakhtiar as saying.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing. Planning Secretary Zafar Hasan and Project Director CPEC Hasan Daud Butt were also present at the occasion.
The minister stressed on the need to develop projects such as Gwadar international airport, hospital, vocational institutes, and a power plant on a priority basis.
He appreciated the fact that Chinese officials were scheduled to visit Pakistan this month to discuss future projects. These initiatives would include agriculture, education, medical treatment, poverty alleviation, water supply, and vocational training programmes.

Furthermore, he lauded Beijing for its financial support for a poverty alleviation programme in Pakistan. To facilitate this end, Islamabad has sought suggestions from the provincial governments.
