Peshawar: In order to boost tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by identifying new tourist spots, the Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Culture, Museums and Youth Affairs Department is to launch the Spot-a-Spot campaign, reported a news source. Under this campaign, members of the local community and the society at large will be invited to pinpoint a beautiful site for setting up tourist resorts.
The information was shared by Senior Minister Muhammad Atif Khan during a meeting held on Monday, which was attended by Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Culture, Museums and Youth Affairs Secretary Shahid Zaman, Manager Marketing Haseena Shaukat and other important officials.
Addressing the meeting, Khan said that dedicated efforts are being made to introduce KP as a brand name in world tourism. He also stressed that citizens should promote the Spot-a-Spot campaign by participating in it and sending pictures of the areas known for their waterfalls, valleys, rivers, rich cultural heritage, ancient buildings, springs and streams, snow clad mountains, and similar serene vistas.
After reviewing the pictures, experts from the department will visit the place and take needed steps for development and rehabilitation of these spots for the purpose of setting up tourist resorts.
