Gujranwala: The Punjab government has decided to establish sports grounds in all 17 tehsils of the city, a news source reported. For this purpose, it has asked the officials concerned to identify land suitable for these facilities.

The Secretary Sports recently wrote to the Sports Department Gujranwala, apprising its officials of the government’s plans. Each tehsil of all the six districts will get a sports ground.
The Sports Department will identify land measuring from three to six acres in every tehsil for this project. The assistant commissioners concerned will forward their recommendations to the higher authority.

The provincial government will then sanction the release of funds for this development initiative. The sports grounds will host both indoor and outdoor games including cricket, football, volleyball, hockey, and badminton.
