Quetta: Balochistan Minister for Communication and Works Mir Arif Jan Mohammad Hassani on Wednesday announced that new sports complexes are being constructed in all districts of the province, in order to provide the athletic facilities required to promote physical activities amongst the youth population of Balochistan — according to news sources.
In a press briefing on his visit to Sibi and Hassani, the minster said that tenders for various development schemes were being issued and work on them would be launched soon. He added that there was a four-year plan to build the sports complexes in all the districts, including Sibi. These complexes are expected to cost PKR 700 – 800 million , and will offer facilities for sports like cricket, football, hockey and badminton, among others; as well as other necessary amenities and services to assist the youth of the province.

Minster Hassani went on to highlight various other projects currently under development, which included two high schools, four middle schools and shelter schools in all the districts of Balochistan. In addition, he revealed that construction work for several roads around the province had also been initiated, including Luni Road in Sibi.

The minister visited many project sites and warned against substandard construction or ill-use of equipment. He also directed the officials concerned to complete each venture within the preset timelines — for the convenience and benefit of the residents of the entire region.
