Rawalpindi: The local police department has announced its decision to establish a special force in Murree in an effort to boost and improve tourism initiatives planned for the hill station, according to a news source. Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Faisal Rana revealed this information during a meeting recently held in Murree. Saddar Superintendent of Police (SP) Rai Mazhar Iqbal and other officials concerned were all present at the occasion.

As per DIG Faisal Rana, this force will be tasked with ensuring the safety and security of tourists and their property – besides offering guidance with regard to tourism. He stated that Murree is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Pakistan, especially during national holidays. He reiterated the need for providing the best facilities possible to the visitors and ensuring their safety. In addition, he revealed that daily meetings would be held to review the progress on this front.

Moreover, this force will receive special training so that its officers can guide and protect tourists, as well as answer their queries with regard to the history and culture of the hill station.
