Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday stated that the provincial government had prepared a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for opening businesses in a phase-wise manner, a news source reported.

He further said that now that wood and construction sectors have been opened, other industries relating to construction will also be allowed to open. He added that the industrial units violating SOPs for opening businesses will be shut down. He said that the recommendations have been submitted to the federal government.
He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with a delegation of traders. He also assured the delegation that all their problems will be resolved at the earliest. He revealed that power looms will be allowed to function and the industrial units which have their own labour colonies will also be opened.

The provincial government has also proposed opening steel and iron industry as well as the home appliance industry. Moreover, markets across the province will be opened in phases.
