Peshawar: In order to commence with the reopening of various tourism spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a committee has been formed to prepare a set of anti-COVID SOPs to ensure safe operations, a news source quoted Adviser to KP Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Wazir as saying.

The said body is comprised of officials from the provincial health, relief, planning and tourism departments; with the advisor also making notification of the construction of four integrated tourism zones of international standards currently underway in Hazara Division, Chitral and Swat.
He further stated that restaurants, gas stations, tuck shops and rest areas were being set up in these locations, with special measures being taken to ensure their cleanliness; adding that individuals found violating the set SOPs would be fined.

Commenting on the availability of a suitable road network to connect these areas with the rest of the country, Wazir said that the construction and repair work of various roads was currently underway at a fast pace; meant to accommodate the rising number of both local and international tourists.
In order to allow more people to ‘experience the beauty of these zones’, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) had issued new fares with reduced rates on the direction of CM KP Mehmood Khan, he added.
