Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority Chairman and Islamabad Mayor, Sheikh Anser Aziz, has issued orders to open the Sohan Interchange partially to traffic by January 1, according to a news source. He issued the orders during his site visit to inspect the pace of ongoing work.
The project has faced delays due to sit-ins and also because it falls on the VIP route. Aziz deems it important that additional resources be deployed to catch up with the delays and meet the deadlines. The Mayor also visited the Khanna Interchange and instructed the concerned officers to ensure that electricity poles are installed and landscaping and plantation done by the time the construction work is completed.
