Provincial Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra recently launched the scheme at a branch of the Bank of Khyber (BoK). Secretary Finance Shakeel Qadar and BoK Managing Director Saiful Islam were also present at the occasion.
Under the ‘Insaf Rozgaar’ facility, the government will reportedly provide soft loans of up to PKR 100,000 to professionals and degree holders. Similarly, individuals in possession of technical and vocational qualifications will be able to receive loans of up to PKR 500,000.
Borrowers will be given a payback period of three years. The government has fixed the age limit of individuals hoping to avail this loan scheme at up to 50 years – in a bid to promote entrepreneurship in the province.
