Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has instructed private developers to plant 1,000 saplings within three days inside their housing schemes, according to a publication.

The civic agency has constituted several teams of its Metropolitan Planning Wing. These teams have been tasked with inspecting the plantation drive in private societies.
This directive comes as a follow-up on LDA’s campaign which aims to ensure the development of green areas in residential schemes.
Section 15 of LDA Private Housing Scheme Rules – 2014 makes it mandatory for private schemes to develop green belts and plant trees under a landscape plan.
Moreover, the civic agency has asked private developers to take immediate steps with regard to carrying out an effective tree plantation campaign within the jurisdiction of their societies.
