Murree: The Punjab government has asked provincial departments and the district administration officials in Murree to coordinate with each other to ensure the safety of tourists and locals during the upcoming snowfall spell, news sources reported on January 12.

In this regard, the city district administration has mobilized resources and made arrangements for the clearing of roads, the trimming and clearance of fallen trees, traffic management and parking, and the setting up of a central control room and 13 facilitation centres for the convenience of tourists. The administration has also tasked the motorway police with traffic management on the main expressway, and 30 CCTV cameras have been installed for monitoring and live-streaming events. The district administration is taking all necessary steps to protect tourists from agents, hotels, and profiteers. The administration has also restricted the total number of vehicles entering the city to just 8,000.

It is important to note that Murree is one of the most frequented hill stations in the country, with thousands of people visiting the city during the snowfall season. The Met Office has predicted more rain in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and snowfall in Murree.
