Peshawar: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd. (SNGPL) has severed hundreds of illegal gas connections in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a news source reported. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) participated in the joint operation launched against people found involved in gas theft.

The officials of the two agencies also arrested several people involved in gas theft.
According to sources, the two teams launched a crackdown in Karak, Banu, Kohat, and several towns and areas located in Peshawar’s suburbs – as well as on Warsak and Charsadda roads.

The officials severed illegal gas connections for power generation units, water pipeline networks, and hundreds of gas connections linked directly with the main supply line. To prevent future incidents of gas theft, the officials dismantled the gas supply for several supply lines in Peshawar’s Gulbahar area.
