General Manager (GM) SNGPL Kabeer Ahmed Butt stated that, as per this target, 78% of the new connections will be issued in Gujranwala, while the remaining 22% will be allocated in Hafizabad. The demand notices for 15,000 applications have been issued already. He said that the remaining 7,000 will also be issued after the official orders are dispatched.

The GM also said that the 5 million requests received for new connections are also being reviewed and people will be granted connections accordingly. He proposed that OGRA should set a minimal target for the number of new connections, owing to the low gas pressure available. He further added that OGRA is reluctant to disrupt gas provision or resort to load-shedding in the winter season.
