The Punjab Environment Protection Agency has been directed to implement this decision, after the Punjab government had issued notifications in this regard earlier this month. The factories will be closed down from December 2, and the five districts that have been selected for this purpose include Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Kasur, and Sheikhupura.
IN addition, the government has also issued a notification to the EPA for the implementation of this plan. The meteorology department has predicted heavy smog for another 20 days, which is why the decision to close factories was so essential.
