Lahore: The Small & Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) on Monday launched the ‘Knowledge Sharing Programme’ for the development of Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country, a news source reported. The initiative is part of SMEDA’s research and development (R&D) activities to bring local SMEs on par with global best practices.

For the development of SMEs, the programme initiated will assign SMEDA SME experts to study latest international research reports. They will then share the knowledge acquired with other team members via presentations during the weekly sessions at SMEDA’s head office for this purpose. SMEDA’s Policy & Planning Division would coordinate the said activity on a regular basis. The team members working in regional and provincial offices would attend the session via Zoom.

A press release issued in this regard stated that SMEDA needed to keep itself up-to-date with the latest research and development underway across the world for the development of SMEs. A spokesperson revealed that the main aim was to encourage book reading, research, and gathering new information among SMEDA team members in order to provide better services to Pakistan’s SME sector.
