Sialkot: The Sialkot Municipal Corporation (SMC) has identified and declared 36 housing societies to be illegal due to not having their due approvals, according to a news report. Sale and purchase activity for all types of plots in these societies has been completely banned to protect consumers from embezzlement and fraud.
Along with this information, Deputy Mayor Chaudhry Bashir Ahmed also revealed that the corporation had ordered the concerned official departments to ensure that the offices of these illegal housing schemes are sealed on priority. Ahmed further stated that these 36 housing schemes in Sialkot tehsil had not been approved, and had sought No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the SMC, without clearing their legal status. Strict action is being taken against these schemes to protect the interests of the general public and promote safe investment.
