Lahore: The Secretary Housing has approved a proposal to open Lahore Development Authority (LDA) offices under the government’s recently announced ‘smart lockdown’ arrangement – a news source reported. The proposal was forwarded in order to further the government’s plans to facilitate the construction sector.

The LDA offices will be opened as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) developed by the government. Under the proposal, the LDA Directorate will be partially made functional — with some directorates to be made operational with essential, skeletal staff.
Town Planning, Commercialisation, and Estate Management branches will also become partially operational.
In addition, the one-window cells in LDA offices will be opened between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM; however, initially the cell will only entertain layout approval applications. An online token system will also be launched for visitors.
In a related news, the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) has issued a notification regarding the time period its offices will remain open. Reportedly, the office timings are between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, and 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday.

The land record centres will also be open between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, and from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday.
