Islamabad: A delegation from Pakistan, led by Senator Faisal Saleem and Board of Investment (BOI) Member Muhammad Imran Masood paid a visit to the headquarters of Anlu International Technology Company in China-Beijing, according to news published on October 10. The delegation engaged in a comprehensive discussion with the company’s chairman regarding the development of smart cities in Pakistan.

Liu Quanjun, Chairman of Beijing Anlu, shared insights about his company and stated that the company is among the pioneering Chinese firms that have ventured into the global arena in the realm of smart cities. In alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative, we have extended our services to over 30 countries and regions
Beijing Anlu has been actively involved in projects such as the Peshawar BRT Project and the Lahore Safe City Project, which has provided the company with valuable insights into Pakistan’s current conditions and requirements in this sector.
Liu Quanjun expressed his optimism about the potential for collaboration between China and Pakistan in the development of smart cities and intelligent transportation systems. He emphasized his desire to strengthen cooperation further.

During the meeting, Faisal Saleem acknowledged Beijing Anlu’s significant contributions to Pakistan’s ‘informatisation’ construction and extended a warm invitation to more Chinese companies to participate in the development of safe cities, intelligent transportation networks, and smart educational campuses in Pakistan.
Saleem also added, ‘We are keen to encourage Beijing Anlu to establish partnerships with Pakistani universities, facilitating industry-academia collaboration’. Both sides also shared their perspectives on the existing challenges and strategies for addressing them in Pakistan’s modern governance and the construction of smart cities.
