Rawalpindi: The city administration has announced its decision to construct six more parking plazas in the commercial neighbourhoods of Rawalpindi, including Fawara Chowk, Kutchery Chowk, Jinnah Road, Bani Market, Ghazni Market, and Commercial Market — according to a news source published on September 15.

Rawalpindi Commissioner (retired) Captain Mohammad Mehmood stated that the administration was planning to construct parking plazas in the city’s commercial areas in order to resolve the persistent traffic issues in these congested locations.
Moreover, it was announced that a tender had been awarded for the development of a commercial cum parking plaza at the Children Park Commercial Market in Satellite Town. The commissioner further revealed that construction work on the said project would be launched soon.

Captain Mehmood additionally disclosed that the authorities concerned had been directed to award the contract for the development of the aforementioned parking plazas in Raja Bazaar, and Fawara Chowk at the earliest possible opportunity. Regarding the development of parking plazas at Bani Market, Jinnah Road, and the Fifth Road’s Commercial Market, the commissioner asked to be kept in the loop regarding the progress made in the process for hiring a transaction advisor for the project.
