Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is all set to establish six new industrial zones in the province’s Malakand division, according to news sources. According to details, the provincial executive plans to set up three large-scale and three small-sized industrial zones
The records of Ministry of Industries and Production show that 40-acres of land has been acquired in the Chitral District for the development of three large-scale industrial zones, which are being established under the KP Economic Zones Development and Management Company’s watch. The groundbreaking ceremony for the said zones will soon be held. The development of the remaining three smaller industrial zones is being overseen by the Small Industries Development Board.

Meanwhile, in the Buner District’s progress framework for the existing financial year (2019-20), the sum has been allocated for land acquisition for the Marble City Buner project. The PC-I for the Buner Marble City project was recently tabled before the Planning and Development Department for necessary approvals.

In Swat District, the summary pertaining to the transfer of state land to establish industrial zones has been sent to the chief minister. Following the land acquisition, the development schemes will be planned for the area.
