Karachi: The Sindh Works and Services Department has shared the progress of road infrastructure projects launched in the province to improve transportation between cities and boost the economy, according to an advertisement shared in the national daily on Saturday (April 9).

As per the details, the Sindh Works and Services Department has disclosed details about the milestones achieved during the last decade. The following are some of the achievements:
- Under Sindh Provincial Road Improvement Project (SPRIP), 408-kilometres of 9 major roads were constructed with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)
- Construction of the link road project connecting Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M-9) to N-5 has been launched
- More than 1,400 projects have been completed and more than 9,837-kilometres of the road network were established
- Several mega projects were completed including Karachi-Thatta Dual Carriageway, Sir Agha Khan Jhirk Mullah Katiyar Bridge, and Hyderabad Mirpurkhas Dual Carriageway

- Construction of the longest bridge on River Indus is underway, which will connect Ghotki & Kandhkot
- A Road Asset Management System has been launched to maintain and improve road infrastructure in collaboration with ADB
- Out of the total ongoing projects in Sindh, 211 road projects are expected to be complete by June 2022
