Karachi: Sindh’s Cooperative Department has issued a warning to the general public about investing in bogus and unlawful housing schemes, a public advertisement read.

The Co-operation Department of the Government of Sindh cautioned prospective buyers that they should thoroughly verify with the appropriate office of the Department of Cooperation before purchasing any land or investing in housing societies. The department expressed its resolve to help citizens ensure the legality and legitimacy of housing projects, in order to avoid post-purchase inconveniences.

Furthermore, the government has warned that anybody found to be involved in the selling and buying of any such bogus and counterfeit housing societies will face legal consequences under the Cooperative Societies Act.
It is crucial to note that the current advertising is released in the aftermath of Karachi’s strict demolition drive.
