Karachi: Sindh Provincial Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired a significant meeting of the Energy Department to provide an update on the 350MW Jhampir Wind and Solar Hybrid Project, as reported on July 23.

According to the details, the project, which is slated for completion within 15 months, has an estimated cost of PKR 120.865 billion, with an anticipated electricity generation cost of PKR 18.45 billion. It aims to transform the energy sector by providing affordable electricity to Sindh’s industrial base. The initiative will include 36 wind turbines, each with a 7MW capacity, to substantially meet the region’s power needs.
Hussain Shah underscored the importance of promptly initiating the project and announced plans to discuss further details with the Chief Minister of Sindh later this week. The meeting also included key figures such as Tariq Ali Shah (MD TCEB), Imtiaz Ali Shah (MD SEECA), Saleem Ahmed Sheikh (CEO STDC), Tariq Saeed Sr GMSTDC, and other senior officers.

The Minister emphasised that the project reflects Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s commitment to fulfilling Zardari’s vision of providing cost-effective electricity to the industrial sector.
