Karachi: The Sindh government has announced to reopen nine provincial public departments from May 13 (tomorrow) onwards; including offices of Auqaf, Human Rights, Trade and Industry, Information, Science and Technology, Board of Investment, Minorities’ Affairs, Social Welfare, Universities and Education Board, and Works and Services, according to news sources.

In this regard, a notification has been issued from the Sindh chief secretary’s office that the secretaries and essential staff of the said nine departments will have to remain prepared to fulfil their duties under the coronavirus prevention guidelines issued by the Health Department and the provincial government.

Furthermore, the notification states that due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country, the central offices of the remaining 16 government departments shall continue the suspension in their operations.
Meanwhile, the traders, workers and customers have expressed joy as Karachi’s markets reopened after two months – as per the Sindh government’s decision to ease the lockdown restrictions.
