Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to install mini-solar grid stations to energise the rural areas with solar power throughout the province, according to news published on May 26.

Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Shaikh chaired a meeting where it was decided to electrify rural areas using solar energy. The energy minister directed the concerned officials to establish solar energy-based mini-grid stations in order to provide an uninterrupted supply of electricity. During the said meeting, the companies and Sindh Solar energy project officials were ordered to execute the project on an expedited basis.
In another development, the Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh held a meeting on the Sindh Solar Energy Project at the office of the Sindh Energy Department. In the meeting, the attendees were informed that the vendors have completed the preparations for opening Solar Energy Supply Equipment outlets in all the districts of Sindh.

Moreover, the energy minister ordered the speedy provision of solar power facilities to all the households in the province under the Sindh Solar Energy project. The officials were asked to extend all possible cooperation to locals for the provision of solar power.
