Karachi: The Sindh government has announced its decision to distribute two million ration bags to the city’s deserving demographic in view of the ongoing partial lock-down situation in the province in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, according to the news sources.

This decision was announced after a high-level meeting that took place at the residence of Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah.
The meeting was briefed by the CM regarding the preventive measures taken to stop the coronavirus disease spread. He said that after shutting down the malls, restaurants and other public places in the province, necessary arrangements are being made to establish isolation centres and field hospitals in the region.

The meeting discussed the importance of the provision of food supplies to labourers and other underprivileged communities in these tiring times so they don’t have to go hungry. In response, the CM said that he has already been in talks with various philanthropists and non-government entitles to seek their help in the distribution of food rations in these times of coronavirus infection.
The CM and the meeting members decided to constitute a committee meeting led by Labour Minister Saeed Ghani to decide the quantity and supply mechanism of the ration distribution.
