The subsidy will be provided to the rural and urban districts across the province with the help of the World Bank (WB). Minister Imtiaz made this announcement during a meeting with the WB Country Director for Pakistan Najy Benhassine. The project, according to the minister, aims to increase access to affordable, renewable energy for the general public and lessen reliance on costly fossil fuel-based power generation. In rural Sindh areas, the government would offer household subsidies totalling USD 160, while subsidies totalling USD 110 would be offered in urban areas per unit of the solar power system.
