Karachi: Karachi Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput recently stated that the provincial government was considering setting up a dedicated authority for the initiation of infrastructural projects in the city’s Korangi Industrial Area, according to a news source published earlier today (October 26).

The commissioner made these comments while addressing the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) at their headquarters. KATI President Salimuzaman was also present during the event, along with Zubair Chhaya and other government officials and businesspersons.
On the occasion, Dr. Rajput stated that the provincial administration was making every effort in order to resolve the various problems facing the city’s industrial areas — including issues related to the development of infrastructure. He further promised that the proposals made by the KATI would be utilized to bring about improvements in the said industrial area, and that the association’ various suggestions would be taken into consideration, including the aforementioned idea to form a separate development authority.

Commissioner Rajput additionally reassured the assembled individuals that work on the development of the Malir Expressway project would be started soon, and that its construction would be supervised by the Korangi Industrial Trading Estate (KITE) — with the venture expected to be completed with the PKR 1.05 million funds provided by the provincial government for this purpose.
