Karachi: The Sindh cabinet has approved the launch of low-cost housing schemes in different areas across the province to provide accommodations to underprivileged people, according to a news story published on Saturday (April 16).

The cabinet meeting was held at Chief Minister’s (CM) House, which was presided over by Sindh CM Syed Mural Ali Shah. The said meeting was attended by Planning & Development Board Chairman Hassan Naqvi, Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput, all special assistants, advisers, provincial ministers, and others.
As per the details, the Sindh Katchi Abadis Authority (SKAA) has floated a proposal for the launch of low-cost housing schemes in different areas in the province for underprivileged people. It was mentioned that the affectees of the encroachment drives can also get shelter at the housing schemes.

During the meeting, the cabinet was informed that SKAA has already launched Sasti Basti schemes at various locations in the province. Moreover, the cabinet, after approving the proposal, directed the Board of Revenue to identify lands for the housing schemes. The cabinet has also asked the SKAA to devise a plan for the launch of schemes.
