Karachi: Sindh Chief minister Murad Ali Shah discusses plans to build homes for flood-affected individuals, focusing on reconstructing houses for 14 million out of the rural population of 23 million. The news was reported by a news source on July 7.

According to the details, the project aims to benefit 15 million people, surpassing the populations of 154 countries worldwide.
Updating on the progress, the Chief Minister reported:
– Validation of 2 million houses completed
– Opening of 805,000 bank accounts
– Funds disbursed to 555,000 affected individuals
– 373,000 houses at post-plinth level
– 150,000 houses fully constructed
Murad Ali Shah disclosed securing PKR 112 billion for constructing 2.1 million houses, with an assurance of PKR 548 billion. During the presentation, documentaries showcased Noor Khatoon’s journey from receiving the first installment to completing a resilient house in Thatta district. Another documentary highlighted the transparent Management Information System (MIS) for real-time beneficiary tracking.

Discussing Karachi’s achievements, Mr. Shah mentioned completed projects like Mehran Highway, stormwater drains, and various roads. He also addressed ongoing projects including Safe City, Malir Expressway, forensic labs, People’s Solar Program, and Benazir Mazdoor Card, lamenting critics’ denial of these accomplishments.
