As per the report, in the first phase, 6,500 plots will be regularized in 11 katchi abadies present in the Larkana district. A total of 45 such residential slums exist in the province. The chairman said that the SKAA will help regularise residential land that will provide houses to a large portion of the community. On the occasion, SKAA Chairman Liaquat Askani stated that the initiative will be phased-in to other parts of the province.

He further emphasised the rationale for such initiatives, stating that people of such slums have been living on the property without legal documentation for the past 40 years. This programme, he claims, would provide a stable solution to the country’s housing issue.
