Beijing: Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has invited a leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) bus manufacturer to establish a production facility in Karachi, offering incentives to facilitate investment in Sindh’s transport sector.
During his visit to Beijing, Minister Memon met with officials from the Chinese company and formally extended the invitation. Sindh’s Minister for Energy and Planning & Development, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, was also present, assuring full support from the provincial government for promoting green energy and electric mobility.

Minister Memon emphasized that the Sindh government is committed to modernizing public transport and reducing carbon emissions. He assured the Chinese company that the provincial government would provide various incentives, including tax benefits, land allocation, and streamlined regulatory approvals, to support the establishment of the EV bus manufacturing plant.
He further stated that the project would create employment opportunities and contribute to a cleaner, more efficient transportation system in Karachi.

The Chinese company’s representatives welcomed the proposal and expressed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Karachi. They assured the Sindh delegation that a feasibility study would soon be conducted to assess the economic and technical viability of the project.
The Sindh government continues to seek strategic partnerships with global investors to develop sustainable infrastructure and enhance the province’s public transport system.
