As per the report, the IFC would advise and provide assistance to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) in restructuring and tendering for the project as part of the deal. The project will be built using the public-private partnership (3P) model and includes the construction of water treatment facilities as well as a bulk water conveyance system that will transport water from Keenjhar Lake in Thatta. On the occasion, IFC Senior Vice President Stephanie von Friedeburg said that the water shortage has long affected the life and businesses of the county’s largest city. This initiative, on the other hand, will provide the groundwork for future green-field water infrastructure initiatives.
